At Sacred Heart College Middle School, the South Australian Curriculum Standard Framework (SACSA) underpins our curriculum, in particular the ‘middle years’ band. The required documentation and methodologies of the teaching staff reflect SACSA and the use of a student centred approach to teaching and learning. The use of backwards design as a preferred planning methodology, for example, demonstrates a commitment to individualised learning and an outcomes-based educational framework. Our programs have been designed to best achieve outcomes framed by the Essential Learnings and Key Competencies. Within the SACSA Framework, five Essential Learnings have been identified.
They are: Futures, Identity, Interdependence, Thinking and Communication.
