We welcome your involvement in this important aspect of your child’s education and we acknowledge that your involvement in the life of your son(s) is important. The College has a volunteer contact list for people who would like to assist in various activities such as helping in a sausage sizzle or on an excursion, assisting in the tuck shop or playing a role in one of the many sporting activities on offer to our students.

As you may be aware, the Archdiocese of Adelaide has upgraded the level of screening for all persons who have a responsibility through their role within the Archdiocese and who have the potential to have contact with children, youth and vulnerable people to undergo a national police check. Here at SHCMS we are very fortunate to have a large number of volunteers who support the College and therefore our boys in many ways.

The changes to Catholic Education Policy mean that all volunteers will need to have completed the police check procedure for volunteers and have submitted their volunteer’s certificate to the College before they commence as a volunteer. Please note that there is no cost to you in obtaining the police check.

If you have completed the process at another Catholic School, you only need to bring in your original clearance letter to be sighted.

The legislation and accompanying procedures are designed to provide all children with a safer environment in which to learn and develop. Your cooperation will assist us to provide the highest level of care for Sacred Heart Boys. If you have any questions or concerns about the police checks for volunteers please contact the Principal’s office and we will be happy to discuss any issues with you.
