>> Weekend Sport Report & Cancellations Whether sporting, academia or music-based, Curriculum Extension Activities (CEAs) are a great opportunity for teachers and parents/carers to form partnerships in the education of young men. They also reinforce a sense of connectedness to the College which can become a positive influence on some of the choices that these young men make as they proceed through their school life and beyond. We strongly encourage participation in any of the CEAs we offer. Sport in our school is a part of a full and balanced education for our students. The school participates in the Sports Association for Adelaide Schools (SAAS) which is concerned with preserving sound educational and social practices in the many inter school games which are played. The sports included are – Athletics, Australian Rules, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Cricket, Soccer, Swimming, Table Tennis and Tennis. Participation in school sporting activities is regarded as an integral part of the development of students at SHCMS and is strongly encouraged.
Sports available at the school may include: Other Curriculum Extension Activities >> Participation in CEAs Policy The College welcomes parent/carer involvement in the sporting achievements of our students. Whether you are able to volunteer your time to coach, referee etc. or are able to barrack from the sidelines, your involvement is integral to the positive experiences offered through this aspect of school life. >> More information on becoming a volunteer

Our distinctive Marist approach characterises each of our activities and projects. We are convinced of the educating value of quality relation-ships between ourselves and the young, and of the importance of being ourselves in their presence and their feeling at ease with us. We are convinced, too, of the value of work and of working together, especially in situations where people are inclined to be passive or to give up. Such values are of particular importance in the sometimes unstructured settings of our ministry outside formal education. We begin from where they are. |
