Camp activities are designed so that from year to year the boys are asked to be more independent of staff, and more dependent on themselves and others. We try to extend the demands on their physical endurance, and help them to accept challenges in well supervised situations. These experiences are considered to be very important in the development of social and emotional maturity, as well as in leadership training. Thus they are a compulsory component of the curriculum.

The Year 6 camp is a wonderful opportunity for the boys to learn new skills, gain some independence, create new friendships and have lots of fun. They are well supported and cared for by their teachers and other members of the school community as they commence their Sacred Heart College Middle School journey. All of our Year 6 students participate in a 3-day camp where they are given the opportunity to experience a range of activities while getting to know their teachers and fellow students.

All boys in Year 7 travel to Canberra during camp week. During this visit to our National Capital the boys participate in a variety of visits and activities that contribute to their understanding across several key learning areas.

Students from Years 8 and 9 are able to choose from a range of camps offering a variety of activities.
